Capcom is at it again. They just can’t seem to leave the Blue Bomber alone. First the cancellation of Legends 3, then the horrific decision to make him a big joke in Street Fighter X Tekken, then the laziness of using a fan’s game to try and bring fans back into the fold, and now this.
As you might have heard at PAX EAST, Capcom said they didn’t want to announce anything about the new Mega Man title in the works just yet. Well that alone tells us there is a game in the works. What is the game about? Well we were lucky enough to sit down and talk to a member of the Capcom Team in charge of this new title. He wanted to remain anonymous and we didn’t have a lot of time with him. The big announcement is the game will be titled Mega Mare: Friendship is Mega.
If you have not caught on, this will be a sort of My Little Pony and Mega Man mash up. The reason behind this as the Capcom member said is because gamers love cross overs. Mega Man VS Street Fighter is a perfect example.
“We took two things that everyone loves, and put them together. That will truly make the fans happy and will be a great way to celebrate the 25th anniversary.”
While we weren’t given anything visual to go by, he did say that Wayforward would be in charge of the game design.
“We saw what they did with Duck Tales and were very impressed. Their other games are great as well. It was an easy choice.”
He also let slip that Tara Strong would be doing the voice of “Mega Mare.” If you are interested in this train wreck of a game, players can expect to play it when it launches next year on April 1st.
