So, yesterday I bolted home as quickly as possible and downloaded the 750MB worth of data that made up the All Fronts expansion pack for Gears of War 2. And while getting 19 new maps was definitely awesome, I’d be lying if I said my main draw to the pack wasn’t the deleted chapter of the game.
This set me up for a let down.
Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to the wildly successful Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (aka Call of Duty 4), is finally poking it’s head out from the clouds and showing off some solid in game footage.
This is looking pretty crisp and fast paced. Clean graphics, amazing particle effects – it’s shaping up well. I especially like that you seem to be able to control things like the AC130 bombing runs as opposed to just calling in airstrikes and hoping that they make target.

Today Epic Games releases the Dark Corners DLC in addition to the All Fronts DLC for Gears of War 2.
Your favorite JREmen have been sort of falling back in love with Gears of War 2 since this DLC was announced. For one, the Dark Corners DLC includes an entirely new chapter for the game’s campaign. That right there is worth the price of admission – but if that wasn’t enough to satiate your needs, the Dark Corners pack also includes 7 new multiplayer maps. Given our rekindled love for Gears’ Horde mode, this is a no-brainer purchase.

Today, Ubisoft announced that several of its upcoming games – including Splinter Cell: Conviction – will be delayed. The reason? First quarter profits.
Yes, the delays – which push Splinter Cell: Conviction, Red Steel, Ghost Recon, and more into a 2010 release has nothing to do with development problems, more QA time, or anything like that. Instead, Ubisoft just wants have these titles pop up in a different financial quarter so that their numbers look better.
The hidden, small-print writing in this message is, of course: Fuck the fans who have been waiting patiently.
In this interview with Left 4 Dead 2 writer we’re introduced to some of the new weapons and special infected present in the sequel to Left 4 Dead.
With the last trailer we posted here, I was a little undewhelmed by what appeared to be a fire effect, but now understanding that it’s some sort of combustible mucus – I feel a little better about this.
So many new infected and new awesome weapons – not to mention the music is pretty cool too. Listen closely to the horror theme sound track playing in the background. Sort of reminds me of old 80’s slasher movies with the synthesized soundtrack – very retro and very cool.

Hey folks. You all remember that long rumored Halo game crafted by Peter Jackson himself, right? Right?
Well, it ain’t gonna happen. According to the post at Opposable Thumbs, Jackson’s Halo game is officially dead. With the expiration of the no-go Halo movie rights, Jackson’s Halo game has apparently gone down with it. So this title can now join Duke Nukem in the world of officially dead vaporware.
For those of you who were following the Wolfenstein graphic novels this is the final chapter in the series.

Here’s what I’m talking about – some fresh footage of Splinter Cell: Conviction.
This one was getting alot of attention at E3. They had guys showing off the game and an announcer hyping the crowd and calling the action as the demo player went through portions of the single player experience. What we saw looked really cool and certainly piqued our interest.
For me however, the Splinter Cell games have always been about the multiplayer, ever since Pandora Tomorrow took what we knew about multiplayer and turned it on its head. Third-person spies facing off against first-person mercenaries? THAT’S JUST CRAZY TALK!!! Unfortunately over the release of sequels the multiplayer morphed from it’s initial state and made the spy portion of the game a very bland affair. Continue Reading
Around here, we love Left 4 Dead. We also don’t subscribe to the whole Left 4 Dead 2 petition stuff floating around on the net and have turned out our share of angry fan boys by speaking against it.

Well, this trailer popped up on the net showing off some of the gameplay footage from Left 4 Dead 2’s swamp level. And honestly I think they could have shot a better segment. I mean – less than a minute and a dude that looks like he’s running around aimlessly? C’mon…

These music games are truly a phenomenon of gaming culture. Fusing popular music and video games together like this is one of the best ideas for video games ever.
Unfortunately some of these big name artists are getting their own Guitar Hero titles (ie. Aerosmith and some heavy metal stuff which I can’t stand). Finally though, something comes along that looks quite promising – The Beatles: Rock Band.
It’s no Bone Thugs-n-Harmony but it’ll do….
