I want to start off this review with a confession. I didn’t play further than the first level of Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit, one of the Super Nintendo’s…less celebrated licensed platformers. That said, during this first level, I learned more about the Home Improvement universe than I ever did while watching the show. Not that I ever dedicated much time to the show, either. Regardless, I wanted to start the first annual “Review A Bad Game Day” off with a bang, and ended up with more of a bit of unimpressive flatulence. Cue a total lack of surprise from anyone. The Metal Gear series started way back on the MSX2 personal computer with the simply named Metal Gear. The game was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System. In Metal gear, Snake began his everlasting fight against the giant, walking nuclear device that is the series’ namesake. To this day, there have been four main entries in the Metal Gear Solid series, which began on the PS1 and continued the Metal Gear storyline. Snake has become one of the most recognizable and likeable characters in all of gaming. But where did the epic struggle to prevent nuclear holocaust begin?
