So the game news sites are buzzing suddenly about the latest effort to bring the Aliens lore to video games. Aliens: Colonial Marines is being described as a 4 player co-op survival game. Sounds familiar right? Yes – it’s being likened to Left 4 Dead’s stunning 4 player co-op setup.
So everything about Aliens: Colonial Marines sounds great on paper right?

This is an interesting article I came across over at Alternet.org, one of my favorite, highly controversial news web sites. I actually owe it to a friend of mine, Victor, for having turned me on to this site.
Pretty much anybody with extreme political opinions, malice toward Ronald Regan, or any other conspiracy theorists would find this stuff interesting news. While I myself do not lean too heavily on either side of the political fence I do enjoy the articles and this particular one caught my eye.
It’s a bit of a long read but I think it’s pretty interesting how something like this really draws a line in the sand on how differently people think about this sort of thing. What’s the harm in an arcade sponsored by the US Military?

This isn’t the freshest video on the net but I happened to stumble across it and figured I’d share. We’re all excited about the prospect of co-op gameplay in the Resident Evil franchise. The series is one of my personal favorites and I must have played Resident Evil 4 from start to finish in no more than 2 or 3 sittings.

So I talked a bit about the 2008 Spike TV’s VGA Awards where they hand out awards to the highest bidder, I mean, greatest games of 2008. Of course Grand Theft Auto IV was sitting right on top. I wouldn’t say GTAIV is a bad game but it wasn’t really anything new or innovative. We’ve been playing the same sandbox, seedy underbelly, crime world simulator for years now. They just added online play and suddenly it’s Game of the Year. Well, the story was good I’ll give it that – I just have a hard time justifying top honors is all.
Well the results are in for Edge Magazines video game awards and the results are equally questionable…
